Projects to enrich and enhance.
We revitalize Oak Park through thoughtful, community-driven improvements.

3rd Avenue Event Space
In 2022 the Business Association designed, permitted and constructed a number of improvements on 3rd Avenue to better accommodate special events. For an application and guidelines please contact us by email.
The upgrades to 3rd Avenue create a more welcoming and functional space for neighborhood gatherings. Thoughtful design improvements make the area easier to use for community events, cultural activities, and small business activations — helping support connection, local identity, and shared public life.

The Oak Park Archway
This large-scale public improvement project was completed in January 2017 with the help of the City of Sacramento.
This historic replica archway was dedicated to the memory of Terre Johnson, the immediate past Executive Director of the business association.
The archway stands as a visual landmark and point of pride for the community, welcoming people into the neighborhood and reflecting Oak Park’s history, culture, and ongoing revitalization.

Street Banners
The Broadway corridor has seen a series of different banner installations over the past two decades.
Many of the designs honor the history of Oak Park, showcase improvements and partners, and remind community members of ongoing events.
The banners contribute to a cohesive visual identity along the corridor, helping to define a sense of place and highlight the continued investment in Oak Park’s public realm. They serve as everyday reminders of the neighborhood’s history, culture, and ongoing growth.

Streetscape Plan
This Streetscape Concept Plan for the Business District was the first step to identify priority improvement projects.
Projects outlined in the plan include signage, safety and transit improvements, as well as lighting, parking, pedestrian and landscaping enhancements.
The Streetscape Plan guides how the district enhances its public spaces over time. It prioritizes improvements to safety, walkability, and visual cohesion, ensuring that future investments support a more welcoming and connected experience throughout Oak Park.
